William Morris London is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a new eyewear collection from Design Eyewar Group that draws on the British brand’s 3 decades of design, color, and London influences with the theme “Three Decades. One Vision.” Among the collection’s highlights is Royal, a limited-edition frame that was designed specifically to commemorate the anniversary.
Royal presents a modern interpretation of the aviator silhouette and is crafted from premium acetate with metal detailing on the hinges and temples, and across the top. The frame is offered in 4 colorways—black, crystal (pictured above), blue, and red—that were selected to reference Great British heritage. The design also takes inspiration from the colors and geometric patterns of London Underground seat fabric.
According to designer George Clarke, Royal builds on the frame created for William Morris London’s 20th anniversary while giving the concept a contemporary update. The result, he said, was intended to celebrate the company’s heritage while introducing a new expression of the brand’s identity.
