EDITOR'S LETTER
Size Matters
Five years ago, we were the first optical pub to listen to reader requests and shrink our page size. Now, we've again taken your requests to heart. You want more CE. So, we've added two extra courses for '04. You want a more portable size. We've responded and hope you like our new look.
One thing you DON'T want us to change is our focus on business-building strategies. And, we won't. For example, while product is an important part of EB, we don't just show it; we tell you how to build business with it. And we take the time to go deep into topics when it's appropriate. That commitment is why we are the only optical publication with a true feature well. At the same time, we've added to our popular hands-on columns with new must-reads like the Hot List, What Do You Say When..., and Quick Tips.
Hands-on is, in fact, what EB is all about. Our tagline reads "Retail strategies for profitable dispensing." If you have a dispensary, then you're in retail. And, it's our mission to help you marry your professional side with the retail one.
We hope you like our fresh look. Though this was a group effort, special thanks to art director Greg Mursko and managing editor Amy Spiezio, who meshed creative concepts with editorial needs. The process was fun and energizing.
Now it's your turn to get involved. Take part in our surveys. Tell us what you think. And look for more new elements each and every month.
Happy reading,
Stephanie K. De Long
Editor-in-Chief
P.S. Don't miss this month's Seiko-sponsored CE course on freeform technology.
