Best Dressed Men
By Amy Spiezio, Managing Editor
People love lists. In the November issue of "InStyle" magazine, the top 10 winning red carpet looks for women are presented and Jennifer Lopez in her risque green Versace gown tops the list. But what about the men? While menswear can be predictable, eyewear is a chance to show off. Here's the time-traveling EB top-10 best-dressed men in eyewear list.
1. Elton John. This musical master dances to his own tune. From vibrant colors and unique shapes to vivid lens colors, he is a model eclectic eyewear consumer.
2. Paul Shaffer. Admittedly inspired by Elton John, the "Late Show with David Letterman's" musical chief maintains an eyewear wardrobe of 10 to 20 pairs. He has a preference for tints that camouflage under-eye bags and add individuality.
3. Tom Cruise. The couch jumper's Wayfarer dance in "Risky Business" and aviator-sporting "Top Gun" started crazes in the 1980s.
4. Douglas MacArthur. When it comes to heroes, the general is one who goes down in the history books gazing out from behind his Ray-Ban Aviators.
5. Arnold Schwarzenegger. Once upon a time, the governor of California did battle with cyborgs rather than special interest groups. His cool black wraps in the "Terminator" traveled in time as well, with new designs launching with the sequels.
6. John Lennon. It's impossible to imagine an eyewear list without his round frames.
7. Elvis Presley. Viva gold frames. The King took care of business in his oversized gold frames from FosterGrant. Perfect big glitzy style for a Vegas legend.
8. Sean Combs. Although we're not quite sure what to call him these days, he has made an art of stylish eyewear with bling to spare.
9. Clint Eastwood. The legend sports stylish eyewear, even behind the camera.
10. Buddy Holly. The music never dies as his heavy black frames live on.
