Smile…Glasses are Ready
The patient communication service Smile Reminder is launching "Glasses Ready," a feature to help ECPs eliminate the need to contact each patient individually to let them know their eyewear is ready for pick-up. Glasses Ready produces an automated message—via text, email, or both—from the practice when a patient's eyewear is ready for pick-up. The service is free to ECPs who subscribe to Smile Reminder.

CHANNELING THE MESSAGE
Transitions Optical, Inc., is partnering with Aliza Lifshitz, MD, to reach Spanish-speaking consumers through Vidaysalud.com. As an added resource for their Spanish-speaking patients, eyecare professionals can link to the site, which hosts the Salud Visual channel, the first online channel written for U.S. Hispanic audiences. "There's no question that healthy vision is instrumental in a child's learning and developing process," said Manuel Solis, multicultural marketing manager, Transitions. "The new Salud Visual channel educates Hispanic parents about the important role vision plays in a child's life—in the language they feel comfortable with most—and encourages them to set up regular eye exams for their children." The Salud Visual channel will be updated regularly with new articles, and will also feature a number of animated eye health topic videos, developed by Transitions Optical, geared to younger viewers and their parents.
