OAKLEY
Prizm Gaming Lens Technology
Oakley unveils Prizm Gaming Lens Technology, the brand’s first optical solution designed specifically for digital gaming.
Launched to enhance visual contrast and provide sharp vision, Prizm Gaming lenses feature blue light-filtering technology designed to reduce 40% of blue light within the 380-500 nm range. The brand, from Luxottica, designed the lenses to reduce yellow tint, which can occur as a result of blue light-filtering tech.
The new release follows Oakley’s line of headset-compatible frames. An Oakley partnership for a range of eyewear in collaboration with gaming accessory brand Turtle Beach is forthcoming.
ACEP
Smart Mirror
ACEP introduces its latest version of the Smart Mirror technology for iPad Pro and iPadOS 14. The Smart Mirror technology incorporates an iPad-based digital measuring device to quickly and accurately measure PDs, fitting heights, and more, avoiding the close distances required when using a pupilometer, ruler, or standard mirror.
With the Smart Mirror Augmented Reality lens simulator, patients can visualize how they will see via different types of multifocal, computer, AR, polarized, or photochromic lenses. Additionally, the Smart Mirror frame selector technology is designed to provide a seamless eyewear selection process.
ABB OPTICAL GROUP
VisibleBliss Phoropter Mask
ABB Optical is exclusively launching the VisibleBliss phoropter mask to the eyecare industry—a single-use, recyclable mask that attaches directly to the phoropter to help protect doctors and their patients.
“Unexpected patient sneezes and coughs are virtually impossible to avoid. I designed the VisibleBliss phoropter mask to trap these contaminants and reduce lens fogging, which allows ECPs to focus on providing the highest quality of eye care,” says Elvin Fenton, O.D., creator of the product. “While improving patient care is our top priority, ECPs have reported significant improvement in chair time due to reduced need for equipment cleaning, which will deliver practice benefits long after we all move past this pandemic.”
