This month, EB’s Optometric Business Tracker data reveals that exams and sales of frames, lenses, and contact lenses have slowed slightly in the first half of October over September. Still, less of a decline in patient payments indicates that higher capture rates and average dollar sales continue to point to signs of recovery for ECPs across the country.
According to GPN, it may be time to seize the moment.
“Many practices are seeing an increase in demand and, with the Covid-induced reduced capacity, have started booking out one, two, and even three-plus weeks in advance,” says Evan Kestenbaum, co-founder and COO of GPN. “If you are one of these practices, focus on increasing your capacity now, because in December as insurances start to expire, and renew in January, patients will find a new doctor if you can’t accommodate them.”
