With a few months of getting back to business under their belts, eyecare practices from coast to coast are experiencing a solid recovery from the Covid-19 crisis closures.
“Demand for eyecare services remains strong going into the end of summer,” says Evan Kestenbaum, co-founder and COO of GPN. “Though some practices have closed their doors for good or consolidated satellite locations, an increasing number of locations are seeing double-digit revenue growth compared to the same month last year.”
While exams and sales have slowed a bit since the numbers revealed a reopening boost from pent-up demand in June, all eyecare services continue to show a solid recovery over the drop realized from closures in April and May. One key takeaway: A stronger showing from patient payments reveals that many practices are seeing higher capture rates and average sale prices than before due to the pandemic.
