Glacier PLUS Metaform Lenses

Shamir introduces Glacier PLUS Metaform nano-structure lens technology, co-developed by Satisloh, resulting in lenses that are up to 18 times stronger than the FDA standard requirement, and up to 20% thinner and lighter (in minus lenses) than regular lenses, shares Shamir. The technology works by rapidly fusing the multi-feature Preform (which combines a range of optical and physical properties) with any lens in an eco-friendly 3D thermoforming process. All eyecare professionals have to do is choose the relevant index according to the patient’s prescription.

The technology will be released in the U.S. on Dec. 1.
