Best of My Career
The smartest, most talented, and most respectful. That pretty much sums up my thoughts on all the great people at PentaVision that I’ve worked with for the past 20 years. This issue will be my last at the helm of EB.
Expert HR executives always say, hire people that are smarter and more talented than you, and you’ll reap the rewards of much success. How true that is. I’ve had the good fortune to be one of the founding partners of PentaVision (2012), and what we did as a small media company with great people was truly amazing.
There are too many people to thank personally in this farewell letter, but all I can say is this: A huge thank you to the entire PentaVision team for making my time here the very best of my career. My partners and I sold the company to BroadcastMed 18 months ago, and I assure you, you’ll be in great hands as the vision care industry moves ahead. EB will continue to work as hard as ever to provide the right content to help you in your profession.
Innovation and new technologies continue to propel this industry to new heights, so I’m looking forward to watching from the sidelines as time marches on.
Eyecare Business has been providing expert intel to help you do your jobs more efficiently and profitably since 1986, and I trust you feel we deliver the best content that can’t be found anywhere else in the industry. That’s why EB earned a coveted Folio Eddy Award in 2020 for the best magazine issue in health care.
In addition, our social media community also received the Folio Award for the best social media community in all B2B publishing in 2023—proof-positive that
EB delivers!
My sincere thanks go to the EB team—led by Erinn Morgan, my dear friend and “partner in crime”—Kerri Ann Raimo, Veronica Daub, Sue Tarrant, Stephanie De Long, Sandi Kaden, William Pfaff, and many other contributors who we select to give you the smartest advice in the industry.
I’m retiring as of April 1, so I will leave you in great hands, but will always be grateful for my time here at EB. It was truly the best of my career.
I wish you all the very best in success for your business, and most importantly, your personal lives.
God bless you all and farewell,
Mark Durrick
