Yagan Stone Eyewear is a 1-year-old brand based out of Los Angeles with a unique story. Most interestingly, its founder, Kwame Morris, is the son of the legendary Stevie Wonder.
The collection pays homage to Morris’ father in a number of ways. The brand logo that is on the frame’s inner temple, its leather packaging, and box is written in braille as an ode to Kwame’s childhood growing up with a blind father—and his attention to the visually impaired.
The debut Yagan Stone Eyewear style, Dylan, is a black acetate frame with jet-black lenses, akin to the iconic eyewear styles worn by Wonder and those of his contemporaries.
As an added luxe detail, the frame front and temples of the Italian-made Dylan style are embellished with ethically sourced luxury onyx gemstones.
The name Yagan Stone is derived from Morris’ middle name; born in Australia, he was inspired by his connection to his namesake, Yagan, the aboriginal warrior. Yagan Stone Eyewear, also known as YSE, is “committed to honoring the classic, iconic eras and cultural movements that have shaped eyewear’s history.”
