SideSight
Ocutech Inc. launches SideSight for individuals with homonymous hemianopia (HH), a condition where vision is lost on one side due to brain damage, commonly from a stroke, which affects up to a million people in the U.S., according to the company.
Traditional treatments for HH, such as prismatic eyeglasses, require significant training and can be “fatiguing and cognitively demanding” to use, Ocutech shares. Alternatively, Ocutech shares that SideSight is intuitive to use with minimal learning required. The device monitors a 45-degree field of view on the side where vision is lost and alerts the user to potential obstacles through subtle vibrations. This is the visual field area that studies have shown is most prone to collisions for those with HH.
Weighing only 0.6 ounces, the SideSight is compact, attaches to regular eyeglasses, and features a rechargeable battery with a 12-hour life span.
Optase Life Sensitive Eye Makeup Remover
Scope Eyecare introduces Optase Life Sensitive Eye Makeup Remover, designed for people with sensitive and
dry eyes.
The remover gently removes makeup, including waterproof mascara, by utilizing a patented ionized water formula that acts like a magnet to lift away makeup and impurities without harsh chemicals or the need for rubbing, according to the company.
The preservative-free remover contains only seven ingredients, including hyaluronic acid, provitamin B5, and manuka honey, and supports skin health by maintaining the natural skin barrier, preventing dehydration, and preserving natural oils, Scope Eyecare shares.
Tono-Vera Tonometer

The ActiView Positioning System features a full-color view of the eye and an interactive interface, which Reichert shares helps users quickly and accurately align the device with the cornea for reliable IOP readings.
Designed to be lightweight and user-friendly, the Tono-Vera is available in two versions, a rechargeable device or one powered by AA batteries, and features a Flexi-Soft Forehead Rest for patient comfort and Bluetooth connectivity for easy data transfer.
