Aug. 26, 2021 — The American Academy of Optometry Foundation, in collaboration with the Fredric and Marion Rosemore Family Foundation, has announced the 2021 recipient of the Fredric Rosemore Low Vision Educational Grant: Tracy Matchinski, O.D., FAAO, FVI.
Dr. Matchinski is an associate professor at the Illinois Eye Institute—Rosenbloom Center, Low Vision Rehabilitative Services in Chicago. With an expertise in low vision rehabilitation, Dr. Matchinski has published and assisted in updating education modules used around the world.
The O.D.—who has been practicing for 25 years—and her team (including Mallory McLaughlin, O.D., FAAO; Danielle Piser, O.D.; and Janis Winters, O.D., FAAO) have stated their proposal, “Development of multimedia instructional video library for optometry students to enhance their ability to perform Low Vision Rehabilitation (LVR) skills in the clinical setting,” is intended to improve quality of life for low vision patients.
