June 3, 2021 — Put on your favorite pair of sunglasses sold at your eyecare business, and take a #SunglassSelfie to share on social media in honor of National Sunglasses Day, held annually on June 27.
National Sunglasses Day, hosted by The Vision Council (TVC), encourages the vision community to help promote the importance of ultraviolet eye protection via social media channels and in their business.
Individuals can support the campaign by posting on social media accounts with the hashtags #SunglassSelfie and #NationalSunglassesDay, which will allow consumers to easily find, follow, and contribute to the conversation on UV eye health, while simultaneously drawing attention to companies and brands across the industry. Follow along with The Vision Council via @TheVisionCouncil on Facebook and Instagram and @OpticalIndustry on Twitter.
To help industry members get involved, TVC has shared new downloadable marketing materials including logos, social media images, sample posts, posters, web banners, and more.
