July 29, 2021 — Eyecare industry group Healthy Eyes Advantage (HEA) has acquired Professional Eye Care Associates of America (PECAA). 

The acquisition was completed on July 27. Financial terms were not disclosed. The acquisition expands HEA’s platform to 12,000 independent ECPs across the U.S.

Together, we look forward to delivering expanded purchasing power, business management solutions, education, and community to all HEA and PECAA members, and we invite IECPs who do not belong to either group to experience all the benefits of membership in our newly expanded organization.”

McGrann also stated that existing members of HEA and PECAA will continue to receive all current benefits as the leadership teams of both organizations work to increase the value delivered to members. Details on this growth will be communicated in the weeks and month ahead, he shared.

Lance Anderson, O.D., PECAA’s VP of strategic initiatives and one of the organization’s founders, who was featured in The OD Connection column of the July/August issue of EB, shared of the announcement: “This combination provides both organizations with added scale and leverage to continue our shared mission of supporting and promoting the future of independent eye care by providing the resources needed for independents to be successful in their eyecare businesses.”
