Nov. 5, 2021 — Organizers of Vision Expo (The Vision Council and RX) have shared that more than 200 students and young professionals attended Vision Expo West 2021, which took place Sept. 22-25 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas. In addition, on the final day of Vision Expo West, the Career Zone-Student Lounge offered students and young professionals a central hub to network with 10 participating companies, all of which were actively recruiting and seeking new talent.
“Vision Expo West 2021 was fantastic, and the Career Zone-Student Lounge was amazing,” says Damaris Raymondi, O.D., of NYC Health+Hospitals/Metropolitan, owner at Sur Eye Care, and member of Vision Expo’s Young Professionals Advisory Group. “I learned so much, and the exhibitors could not have been more prepared. Hosting the Career Zone-Student Lounge on Saturday was excellent, and a lot of students were excited to participate. Throughout the day, all the exhibitors were accessible and approachable.”
Vision Expo East 2022 will take place at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City from March 31 to April 3. The show’s educational program, together with OptiCon@Vision Expo, will open Thursday, March 31, and the exhibit hall will open Friday, April 1.
Show organizers share that Vision Expo East 2022 will offer students exclusive registration benefits including free exhibit hall admission and unlimited access to education. Registration is scheduled to open in December 2021.
At Vision Expo East 2022, the Career Zone-Student Lounge will take place all day on Sunday, April 3. Early supporters include DigitalOptometrics, National Vision, Shopko Optical, Warby Parker, and Vision to Learn. Information on speakers, panels, and events will be released in the coming months. Organizers reveal that the Passport Program will also return, which encourages participants to meet and receive a stamp from vendors for a chance to win prizes.
“Students, young professionals, and many companies face new challenges as the workforce continues to evolve in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic,” says Suzanne Krauss, Vision Expo’s Career Zone manager. “Vision Expo recognizes that the Career Zone-Student Lounge is more important than ever as emerging leaders evaluate their career goals and look to explore companies that align with their priorities. The Career Zone-Student Lounge provides immediate access to hiring companies, practical advice, and support. Additionally, companies have the opportunity to learn firsthand what benefits are key to employee retention and motivation from the next generation of leaders in our industry.”
