April 11, 2023 — The American Academy of Optometry Foundation is accepting requests for applications for its 2023 Residency Awards through Tuesday, June 1.
Award opportunities provide incentives and financial support to residents who demonstrate commitment to practice, research, and education in various areas:
- The Douglas Hopkins Primary Care Eye Residency Award supports the practice and development of optometry.
- The Alfred A. Rosenbloom Jr. Low Vision Residency Award supports the practice and development of the field of low vision.
- The Terrance N. Ingraham Pediatric Residency Award supports the practice and development of the field of pediatric optometry.
- The Sheldon Wechsler & George Mertz Contact Lens Residency Award supports the practice and development of the field of contact lenses.
- The Rhonda Robinson Contact Lens Residency Award supports the practice and development of contact lenses.
- The Stan Yamane Family Contact Lens Residency Award supports the study and training in contact lenses while promoting commitment to practice, research, and education.
