Oct. 24, 2023 — The 31st edition of the Hong Kong International Optical Fair, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will take place Nov. 8-10, 2023, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, highlighting a range of optical products including eyewear, accessories, frames, lenses, diagnostic instruments, optometric instruments, and more from an array of global brands and companies.
 
Industry individuals can interact with the optical fair via Exhibition+, a new exhibition model serving as a hybrid of in-person and online platforms. Under the Exhibition+ umbrella is Click2Match, an online platform for businesses to connect, which will operate from Nov. 1-17.
 
Thematic highlights of the 2023 Hong Kong International Optical Fair include smart glasses (the trade show’s new Smart Eyewear Zone will feature innovative exhibitors in the category) and sustainable eyewear (the theme of this year’s Hong Kong Eyewear Design Competition at the fair is “Sustainable Living”). Eyecare Business will present a market talk on FW23-24 eyewear fashion trends in the U.S. and sustainability elements within the sector on Thursday, Nov. 9.
 
Winning and final entries of the Hong Kong Eyewear Design Competition will be on display at The Forum (hall 1D) during the optical fair to showcase the region’s creativity.
 
Aligning with the optical fair is the 21st Hong Kong International Optometric Symposium, organized by HKTDC, the Hong Kong Optometric Association, and PolyU School of Optometry. The symposium will host industry experts from the U.S., the United Kingdom, Australia, mainland China, and Hong Kong to share insights on the topic of “Empowering Community Eye Care through Artificial Intelligence and Telemedicine in Optometry.”
 
The Hong Kong Optical Manufacturers Association is set to host an eyewear design gallery promoting the region’s innovative eyewear designs—from trendsetting creations to products created via 3D technology.
