Oct. 4, 2023 — To raise awareness and inspire conversation about the importance of eye health, Johnson & Johnson Vision has launched Vision Made Possible. The initiative involves professional photographer, director, and bestselling author Kate T. Parker, who will capture real-life stories of patients with various eye diseases to highlight how comprehensive eye care improved their lives.
Johnson & Johnson Vision shares that more than 2 billion people suffer from visual impairment worldwide—a number that is expected to double by 2030 unless corrective measures are taken—and half of these cases could have been prevented or have yet to be addressed.
“Vision Made Possible represents our aspiration to elevate the importance of global eye health combining innovation with education and awareness,” says Peter Menziuso, company group chairman at Johnson & Johnson Vision. “It starts with an annual eye exam; it continues through healthy lifelong habits. Vision Made Possible is about driving all this and more.”
Parker shares she personally understands the importance of early intervention to protect eye and vision health from navigating her own related issues. “The opportunity to amplify these stories and capture the power, humanity, and authenticity of how healthier sight has truly transformed these patients’ lives is so rewarding,” she says.
