June 12, 2024 — IDOC is sharing updates on its community networking events for optometry professionals, which offer chances for industry professionals to connect, share insights, and explore new business opportunities.
Supported by partner Kering Eyewear, IDOC recently hosted an event for optometrists, opticians, and managers focused on selling luxury optical products. The event aimed to equip attendees with the knowledge and tools to enhance their practice's profitability by tapping into the luxury market. Given that optical sales can constitute 40% of revenue, IDOC stresses the importance of a robust optical strategy.
Attendees engaged in discussions on selling luxury products, understanding luxury consumers, and creating a luxury environment in their practices. The event combined education with a team-building experience, providing a relaxed and engaging atmosphere for learning.
Building on this success, IDOC announced another luxury training event in collaboration with Kering, scheduled for Tuesday, June 18, in Asheville, NC. Interested parties can contact IDOC for more information or to request a training event in their area.
Additionally, IDOC members benefit from local study groups hosted by IDOC member directors (IMDs). IDOC shares that these small group dinners facilitate networking and problem-solving in a relaxed setting.
“Study groups are a lifeline for a practice owner. Independent eye care is amazing, but sometimes it can feel like you're on an island,” says IMD Juawana Hall, O.D. “The collaboration is so powerful, sometimes you're giving advice and sometimes you're receiving it, but everyone benefits.”
IDOC is planning additional events for the fall of 2024 to offer more educational and networking opportunities. These events are part of the benefits available to IDOC members, which also include access to a dedicated practice development manager, exclusive vendor programs, and expert advice.
