CooperVision has promoted Jennifer Palombi, OD, to director of professional affairs, Americas, and Felicia Timmermann, OD, MS, to senior advisor, myopia management, US. In her new role, Dr. Palombi will lead the company's professional affairs strategy across the Americas, overseeing initiatives including professional education, industry relations, legislative advocacy, key customer engagement, and academic affairs. Dr. Palombi joined CooperVision in 2017 after 20 years in clinical practice across multiple care settings. Dr. Timmermann, who joined the company in 2022, will help guide CooperVision's myopia management strategy in the US, building on her experience in pediatric eye care and previous academic leadership, including establishing and directing Nova Southeastern University's myopia management service.

Cardine, a new independent eyewear company founded in 2025 by industry veterans, has officially launched and plans to introduce 2 eyewear brands later this year. The company is led by cofounder and creative director Tatiana De Arruda, formerly of Marchon, Safilo, and De Rigo, alongside Noel and Javan Diaz, the father-and-son team behind Simplify Optics in Santa Clarita, California. Cardine said it will focus on small-batch production, Japanese craftsmanship, and customer-focused partnerships with independent eyecare practices, leveraging the capabilities of Simplify Optics to support quality assurance, lens mounting, and streamlined turnaround times.
Safilo Group has completed its acquisition of SPY+ and Serengeti from Bollé Brands, following the fulfillment of customary closing conditions. The transaction includes selected SPY+ and Serengeti assets in Europe and full ownership of the brands' operating entities in the United States and Canada.
