Costa Sunglasses launches new materials for its 580P lenses, moving from traditional polycarbonate to a new bio-based alternative. The transition begins with its upcoming 2025 frame releases from EssilorLuxottica, including the Rincon II and Panga II models.
The new bio-polycarbonate lenses retain the lightweight and impact-resistant properties of the original material, Costa shares, while incorporating plant-based content aimed at reducing the brand’s environmental footprint. The lenses will continue to feature Costa’s 580 lens technology, which includes polarization, color enhancement, and glare reduction.
