Costa 580 silver mirror lens

To mark its 25th anniversary this year, Costa Del Mar has introduced the Costa 580 silver mirror lens. Built on a high contrast copper-based glass, the silver lens' higher light transmission accommodates lower light and variable light conditions. All Costa 580 lenses block yellow light, helping to cut glare, while embedded UV protection and AR help prevent sun damage and eye fatigue. Essilor Extensions

Essilor of America's Varilux Comfort and Varilux Comfort 360° PALs are now available in Airwear polarized gray and brown. The lenses are available as semi-finished, uncut, or complete Rx in an range of -9.00 to +6.00D up to a -4.00 cylinder and add powers of +0.75 to +3.00D. In addition, Essilor's Ellipse 360° short-corridor PALs are now available in Thin&Lite 1.74 high-index material. The lenses offer a 22 percent wider distance zone plus reduced peripheral distortion through Varilux 360° Optimization. Seiko Optical Products of America has launched Supercede and Supercede WS patented internal free-form PALs. Utilizing Seiko's patented back surface design technology, the lenses incorporate advanced aspheric compensation in the intermediate and near visual zones, creating larger intermediate and reading areas. Supercede and Supercede WS are each available in two versions, with minimum fitting heights of 16 or 18mm and 14 or 16mm, respectively. The lens' grouping's power range is +6.50D to 10.50D. POLYCORE OPTICAL 1.71 index semi-finished SV Polycore Optical has moved into high-index materials with the introduction of the 1.71 index semi-finished single vision line. Polycore 1.71 allows labs with the appropriate tooling to process 1.71 lenses in-house, avoiding high processing fees previously associated with these materials. With a high tensile strength, Polycore 1.71 lenses offer superior drill-mounting capabilities.
