5 Live Blues Jumping into the latest eyewear color trend, Live Eyewear, manufacturer of Cocoons OveRx sunwear collection, has rolled out a new metallic blue finish with black flecking to the brand's current selection of frame colors. The new color, Ink, is available in all Cocoons models. Dave Dean, vice president of marketing, explains, “Blue is a tried-and-true color that is prevalent in both the latest fashion trends and long-standing, traditional styles that are timeless. It appeals to men and women alike, and will complement our existing collection of Cocoons frame colors.” The color was inspired by the calm and stability of blue in nature and technology. The addition of the flecked dark blue color adds a new dimension to the Cocoons collection. The collection is offered in six sizes, from small to extra large, and, now, in seven colors as well: ink, slate, ivy, black, tortoiseshell, sand, and burgundy. As a designer who has never been afraid to express an independent opinion, Roberto Cavalli has never been reluctant to tap into his wild side. This year is no exception as Roberto Cavalli and Marcolin have created a special edition sunglass collection, first shown at the Fall/Winter 2012-13 women's fashion show.
The Wild Diva model from Roberto Cavalli by Marcolin highlights womens' dramatic sides. A super-exaggerated cat-eye with sharp angles for added impact, the frame is “an iconic, glamorous, savage model with a unique look whose audacious shape and surprising colors make it very daring; these sunglasses are for women who want to be noticed. Crafted on the front for a ‘second skin' effect, it expresses an impetuous temperament through bold lines and strong traits, underscored by a crocodile, ostrich, shagreen print,” the designer's representatives note.
