In the Field: Maui Jim’s World Cup
Maui Jim, Inc., has announced the addition of PGA professional and 70-time golf tournament winner Ernie Els to its team of Ambassadors. Els will wear Maui Jim sunglass model World Cup, among other styles.
Ernie Els is one of the most prolific golf tournament winners of his generation and a wearer of Maui Jim’s World Cup sunglass style. As a former world No. 1, Els’ professional career victories include four Major championships, two World Golf championships, and seven World Matchplay titles. He is ranked o.1 in all-time career earnings on the European Tour (as of the end of the 2013 season) and has taken the top spot in tournaments in South Africa, Europe, the United States, Asia, the Far East, the Middle East, and Australia. In 2011, he was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame and into the South African Golf Hall of Fame in 2009.

ÖGA’s new Talvac concept by Morel shows off what ÖGA does best: combines material and color contrasts to create a visually striking collection that is also masculine and comfortable.
The texture of the frames defines the concept and is inspired by Scandinavian furniture where layers of material produce unique effects. The Talvac temple, made from two-tone triple-layered acetate, is milled to reveal a second layer in a contrasting color. It is then textured using laser technology.
The integrated endpiece hides the cam return spring-hinge system and acts as the link between the temple and frame fronts. Semi-rimless stainless steel frame fronts are paired with handcrafted acetate temples for a unique, but timeless design.
Each of the three Talvac models in the grouping is offered in four colors.

MAKING CHANGES
L’Amy America, a division of global eyewear group TWC L’Amy, has launched two new sunglass models from the Columbia collection.
The styles are created for rigorous trail-sport activity with interchangeable lenses with features such as “H90” lightweight frame technology and interchangeable polarized lenses. The new duo, Peak X in gray for men and Peak W in purple for women, exemplifies Columbia’s core values of long-wear comfort and outdoor performance.
Each model is equipped with three lens options: gray polarized for bright light conditions, amber polarized for lower light or overcast conditions, and clear. Other features include Gripol-lined temple tips for a secure fit and soft touch against the skin and adjustable Gripol nose pads for a custom fit.
“For the first time ever we have created a specific design with an eight-base featherweight coverage ideally suited for trail and road sport for men and for women, with an easy and quick change lens system,” says worldwide business unit manager Connie Reiss. “The semi-rimless interchangeable lens technology creates aerodynamic advantage which prevents moisture build-up from the elements or body heat, and a removable ‘browbar’ keeps perspiration at bay for unobstructed vision. Constructed of Columbia’s exclusive ‘H90’ material, an ultra-lightweight thermoplastic which has super tensile strength, it withstands the effects of both extreme heat and cold, ultimately allowing for extended time and comfort in the greater outdoors.”
