An Upgraded Autograph
To serve those patients who still prefer its Autograph II progressive lens, Shamir Insight, Inc., has released the Shamir Autograph II+, an upgraded design incorporating some of the digital technologies from its more recent Autograph III design.
Shamir Autograph II+ is a back-surfaced, digital Freeform design that meets the everyday needs of presbyopes with wide fields of view and a personalized Rx based on a patient’s selected frame, utilizing As-Worn Technology.
Shamir’s Close-Up technology adjusts the reading zone inset of the lens, allowing for more comfortable viewing in the reading and intermediate zones. Natural Posture technology controls the location of the near-viewing zone as a function of a plus or minus Rx, influencing both posture and head position, allowing for a more natural, ergonomic posture.
Shamir Autograph II+ is available in variable and fixed designs in 1.5 hard resin, DLC Trivex, 1.56, NXT, SuperLite 1.60, SuperLite 1.67, polycarbonate, and SuperLite 1.74, with a variety of treatments.

Office Work Made Comfortable
VSP Optics has expanded its Unity Via lens portfolio with the introduction of Unity Via OfficePro—a multifocal lens that is optimized for the office work environment. And, like the Unity Via PAL, it is easy to fit, customize, and dispense, VSP Optics notes.
Unity Via OfficePro automatically calculates the near and intermediate zone. The lens is available in two working distances—5 feet and 10 feet—to meet every patient’s office needs.
The design’s maximized intermediate and near zones make it ideal for activities like computer work, reading, writing, and meetings. It also helps alleviate eye strain, improves ergonomic comfort, and improves clarity on digital displays, VSP Optics says.

Feature-Rich All-in-One Edger
Santinelli International notes that its new all-in-one edger—designed for easy operation for beginners and experts alike—is its most-compact, feature-rich, multifunctional system to date.
The LEXCE is equipped with integrated five-axis drilling and high-performance grooving with fully automated auto-clamping and 3D tracing, along with a high-definition CAD blocker, multifunction shape modification, and drill hole imaging (optical tracing with hole detection). The unit can edge all materials, cut safety bevels, and perform edge polish.
LEXCE is consistent and accurate, and has advanced cycle-time processing that is 15-30% faster than other models, according to Santinelli. It is offered in multiple configurations for new and existing in-office finishing labs, with a price point that puts it in the middle of Santinelli’s edger offerings.
