In addition to providing eye care to patients in California, she bonds with a broader audience via social media—currently reaching nearly 35,000 followers on Instagram. Plus, her social media company aims to help other O.D.s around the country connect with existing and future patients (glamoptometry.com ).

1. I got it from my MAMA: I make sure to give everyone I meet a COMPLIMENT. Making people feel good radiates positivity into the universe.
2. It’s OK to ask for HELP. There’s only one of me and sometimes I can’t do it all.
3. Never miss a good chance to STAY QUIET. You will understand your patients better in the exam room.
4. SLAY IN YOUR OWN LANE: Stay true to your values, even when they are challenged.
5. ENCOURAGE + EMPOWER. There is room for everyone to grow. Help your colleagues when you can.
6. Dare to SELF-CARE. Stay happy + healthy, and you can care for others better.
7. Never pass JUDGMENT. You’ve never taken a walk in their shoes.
