Finished Single-Vision Lenses With Glacier Plus Coating
Shamir Insight, Inc., has announced the release of Glacier Plus coating on its new, finished single-vision (FSV) lenses.
Shamir’s Glacier Plus is an anti-reflective coating designed to provide patients with an innovative, glare-reducing solution by resisting scratches and repelling water, dust, and smudges on an easy-to-clean surface, according to the company.
The company has shared that the ability to order stocked, finished single-vision lenses with Glacier Plus AR Coating will allow ECPs to experience premium Shamir-branded lenses “off the shelf” and deliver faster turn times for patients.
Current available materials for finished single-vision lenses are 1.50 clear, 1.59 polycarbonate clear, and 1.67 Aspheric clear, and additional FSV lenses will be available in the future featuring Shamir’s Blue Zero material and Transitions technology, shares Shamir. shamirlens.com

Fog-Free Solution
Satisloh has introduced Fog-Free, its two-pronged solution to lens fogging.
The first element is a new lens coating (applied to both sides of the lenses during AR coating) for Satisloh vacuum box coaters. Activation of the anti-fog effect can be done in the lab or via the optician.
The second element employs pretreated microfiber cloths for daily activation of the Fog-Free technology. According to Satisloh, the cloths typically last up to three months—resulting in future sales and a new revenue stream via purchased replacements.
Satisloh Fog-Free is available on Rx lenses, sunglasses, sport lenses, visors, and more.

Eye Designs, LLC, has launched its new merchandising and plan-o-gram software, Merchandiser Pro.
The cloud-based software allows eyecare professionals to generate 3D merchandising models, featuring frame board layouts along with Eye Designs accessories including frame holders, shelving, and signage. Users can plan optical displays via a computer, tablet, and/or smartphone.
