Ray-Ban, an iconic eyewear brand from EssilorLuxottica, has partnered with Facebook, Inc., to release Ray-Ban Stories, smart glasses designed to provide wearers with the flexibility to easily capture and connect with the world around them.
Ray-Ban Stories glasses feature a 5-megapixel camera to take photos and video, built-in Bluetooth and audio that can be used to take calls and listen to media, Facebook assistant technology, and more.
“We’re introducing an entirely new way for people to stay connected to the world around them and truly be present in life’s most important moments, and to look good while doing it,” says Andrew Bosworth, vice president at Facebook Reality Labs.
The release launches with a companion app for users to import, edit, and share content captured via the smart glasses with the ability to upload on social media apps.
Signature Ray-Ban silhouettes (Wayfarer, Round, and Meteor) star in the initial launch, and wearers can choose from sun, prescription, polarized, gradient, Transitions, and clear lenses.
