Hoya Vision Care has introduced its latest anti-reflective treatment, Super HiVision Meiryo EX4. 

Hoya shares that it performed extensive testing in five categories, evaluating performance advantages over its previous generations of anti-reflective treatments in addition to those from leading competitors: visual clarity, durability of cleanability, scratch resistance to abrasion, thermal resistance, and resistance to peeling. 

According to Hoya’s findings, Super HiVision Meiryo EX4 provides 56% lower reflectance, offers up to 2.5 times better scratch resistance and two times better abrasion resistance, and maintains easy-clean features up to five times longer when compared with a major competitor’s

Miebo

Bausch + Lomb has announced the U.S. commercial launch of Miebo (perfluorohexyloctane ophthalmic solution) for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of dry eye disease (DED). Formerly known as NOV03, the water- and preservative-free perfluorohexyloctane ophthalmic solution is the first U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved treatment for DED that directly targets tear evaporation, according to Bausch + Lomb. The FDA approved Miebo in May 2023.

A leading cause of DED, tear evaporation due to an altered tear lipid layer is often associated with the clinical signs of meibomian gland dysfunction. Zeiss Visucore 500 

Zeiss has launched the Zeiss Visucore 500, a two-in-one refraction unit combining objective and subjective refraction in one cycle.

Featuring open-field simulation, the unit’s binocular wavefront autorefractor is integrated into a fully automated digital phoropter, fit with company-specific optics with red/green separation. The dual cross cylinder employs a split prism that allows for side-by-side comparison of visual impressions for patients, Zeiss shares. 

The machine is equipped with a new standardized guided mode that takes users through the refraction process step by step, and experienced examiners can perform objective and subjective refraction in less than 4.5 minutes, according to the company.
