Make the Connection
To Carlo Sestini, status can’t be purchased.
“I always wanted to go against the current,” says the Sestini Eyewear founder, who shares his love of sunglasses began in his youth when he was bullied for his thick eyebrows—using sunglasses as a “shield.” “People nowadays buy brands to prove that they’re worthy…I want to show that the wearer is the one that makes it worthy.”
The Undici style, photographed here, was inspired by his grandfather, “a very stylish man that was always very elegant and dared with class, but never wanted to be a peacock by wearing logos or loud colors.”
The brand’s core pillars—slow luxury, sustainability, masterful craftsmanship—are emphasized not to fuel the latest craze but to impact the wearer’s lifestyle.
