July 7, 2023 — Bausch + Lomb has announced its purchase of Blink, Johnson & Johnson Vision’s product line of eye and contact lens drops. The move reflects Bausch + Lomb’s goal of increasing its over-the-counter (OTC) eyecare offerings.
A 2022 Gallup Study found that 57% of American adults experience eye dryness, and 48% use OTC lubricant drops for relief.
“There’s a growing need for relieving the symptoms of dry eyes and dry contact lenses, and OTC products are often the first option consumers choose,” says John Ferris, executive vice president, consumer, Bausch + Lomb.
Bausch + Lomb agreed to acquire the Blink product line for $106.5 million.
