March 30, 2023 — CooperVision Specialty EyeCare has announced the schedule for its 2023 Beyond the Limbus (BTL) scleral lens workshops, a dual-track series that is broken into two parts: scleral lens accelerator training for eyecare professionals and scleral lens basics training for office support staff. Both in-person and virtual workshops will be offered.
 
Designed to provide practices with the tools and education necessary for fitting and prescribing CooperVision’s Onefit and SyngergEyes VS scleral contact lenses, the single-day intensive training sessions will be led by specialty lens experts Justine Siergey, O.D., manager, professional affairs, irregular cornea, CooperVision Specialty EyeCare, Americas; Tom Arnold, O.D., regional vice president for corporate development, AEG Vision; and Renee Reeder, O.D., professor and department chair, clinical affairs, University of Pikeville.
 
“Through the BTL series, ECPs across the U.S. have the opportunity to elevate their fitting, troubleshooting, and practice management skills while simultaneously training their staff to assist with scleral lens fitting, including application and removal,” says Dr. Siergey. “Attendees will learn which scleral lenses are best suited for certain patients and even when to consider other modalities in our portfolio, like UltraHealth hybrid contact lenses for keratoconus.”
