Jan. 18, 2024 — The World Council of Optometry is partnering with CooperVision to host an inaugural Latin America-based virtual event, “Myopia Management: From Theory to Practice,” taking place Feb. 20, 22, 27, and 29.
Divided into four 90-minute sessions over four days, the virtual event will explore the myopia epidemic and how the latest research can be successfully integrated into clinical practice, featuring insights from leading eyecare professionals in the region. Each webinar begins at 6 p.m. in Central America; 7 p.m. in Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru; and 9 p.m. in Argentina, Uruguay, and Chile.
With a focus on adopting myopia management as a standard of care in the region, the multiday webinar is a collaboration with the following local organizations: Group Manejo the la Miopia LATAM, Asociación Latinoamericana de Optometría y Óptica, Colegio Federación Colombiana de Optómetras, and Colegio de Optometras de Puerto Rico.
Introduced in April 2021, the myopia management standard of care resolution defines an evidence-based approach to care comprising the three main pillars of mitigation, measurement, and management.
Registration is required, but free, for those who wish to attend.
