Feb. 21, 2024 — Transitions Optical has announced the winners of its annual Transitions Innovation Awards program, honoring individuals and organizations that have demonstrated commitment to Transitions’ values of quality, education, service, and innovation in their businesses.
Winners were announced during Transitions Academy, which took place Feb. 11-14.
The Transitions Healthy Sight Ambassador recognizes an individual for their vision health advocacy. The winner is Ric Peralta, ABOC, HFOAA, consultant, frame/lab manager at Focal Point Optometry in Fullerton, CA. Finalists included Sophia Pray, optician and office manager at Huntley Eye Care in Huntley, IL, and Caroline Tétreault, owner and optician at Tétreault Isaïa Opticiens in Granby, Quebec.
The Practice of the Year title celebrates an independent eyecare practice that actively promotes healthy sight not only to their patients but also within their communities.
- Harvey & Lewis Opticians in Canton, Downtown Hartford, Enfield, Farmington, Glastonbury, Hartford Hospital, Kensington, and West Hartford, CT, was named U.S. Practice of the Year. Finalists included Dunes Optical in Michigan City, IN, and Webb Eyecare in Alliance, Bridgeport, and Scottsbluff, NE.
- Optique Cloutier in Châteauguay, Quebec, was named Canada Eyecare Practice of the Year. Finalists included Merwin Optical in Fort St. John, BC, and Tétreault Isaïa Opticiens in Granby, Quebec.
The Retailer of the Year title honors a retailer for demonstrating a commitment to enhancing the vision of their customers and communities.
- Walmart Vision Center was named U.S. Retailer of the Year. Finalists included Henry Ford OptimEyes and Target Optical.
- Lunetterie New Look Eyewear was named Canada Retailer of the Year. Finalists included Theodore & Pringle Optical and Vogue Optical.
Vision Source was named Channel Partner of the Year, an honor that recognizes an optical laboratory, managed vision care company, lens manufacturer, or buying group that actively promotes healthy sight to their customers and communities. Finalists included K-Mars Optical and Opto-Réseau.
The Best in Training award celebrates an individual or company that has shown creativity in developing training and education opportunities that include dispensing photochromics. The winner is Vision Source, and finalists included Dr. Travel Family Eye Care and Webb Eyecare in Alliance, Bridgeport, and Scottsbluff, NE.
