June 27, 2024 — ClearVision Optical and the Optical Women's Association (OWA) have announced the winners of the inaugural ClearVision-Adira Grant Program, an initiative designed to support the personal and professional development of women in the optical industry.
The first-round recipients are Danielle D. Crull, owner and master optician at A Child's Eyes, and Michelle Kelley, director of ophthalmic services and materials at the Southern College of Optometry. The selection process included essay submissions and voting by OWA members.
"This collaboration between ClearVision and the OWA underscores our deep-rooted commitment to supporting women in the optical industry," says David Friedfeld, co-owner and president of ClearVision.
"The grant program embodies the OWA's mission to enhance and promote the leadership role of women in the optical industry through networking, education, and peer support," says OWA president Lorie Lippiatt, O.D. "By recognizing the achievements of Danielle and Michelle in collaboration with ClearVision, we are celebrating their contributions to the industry and providing them with opportunities to further their professional growth."
The ClearVision-Adira Grant Program will continue with a second round later this year, awarding three additional grants. Submissions for the second round will open for OWA members in July and close in August.
