Oct. 30, 2024 — CooperVision has launched the Bright Fellows recognition program, aimed at encouraging third- and fourth-year optometry students to broaden their educational experiences. Through this program, students earn points for completing various professional development activities, such as attending industry conferences, joining CooperVision academic events, conducting research, and fitting patients with contact lenses. The accumulated points allow students to progress through reward tiers, with opportunities to earn scholarships and awards.
“The hours that students spend in the classroom and clinic are incredibly important, but those who seek out additional opportunities for learning are truly setting themselves up for success as eyecare professionals,” says Michele Andrews, O.D., vice president, marketing and professional affairs, Americas, CooperVision. “Bright Fellows encourages more students to do just that.”
Students who advance through the program’s tiers gain eligibility for prizes, including an all-expenses-paid trip to the 2025 CooperVision New Graduate Summit. Additionally, the student with the highest points at each optometry school will be awarded the CooperVision Excellence in Contact Lens Award, which includes a scholarship.
Third- and fourth-year optometry students interested in the Bright Fellows program can enroll anytime via the CooperVision Online Success Center.
