Nov. 14, 2024 — EyeMed Vision Care and The Vision Council Foundation have launched a partnership aimed at promoting public awareness about eye health and advocating for the importance of vision care. The collaboration will feature a series of educational tools and consumer outreach initiatives to boost understanding of eye care and emphasize the role of vision benefits.
Over the coming months, the organizations will release vision health articles, interactive guides, and social media campaigns to increase awareness. A new addition to EyeMed's Vision Curriculum Kit series, titled "Common Vision Conditions," will be co-branded with The Vision Council Foundation and designed to help grade-school students learn about the value of clear vision. This kit, available at no cost, is intended for educators and eyecare professionals to share with students and patients.
EyeMed will also support The Vision Council Foundation’s 2025 programs as a sponsor to fund additional eye health awareness efforts.
“Both EyeMed and The Vision Council Foundation share a common mission to empower individuals to have the knowledge, access, and opportunity to make informed decisions when taking care of their eyes,” says Matt MacDonald, president of EyeMed Vision Care. “By leveraging both organization’s strengths in the optical industry and focusing on consumer outreach, I’m confident we can meaningfully improve awareness and access to care through education and resources to individuals across all stages of their life.”
Key resources from the partnership include:
- Health and wellness resources available at eyesiteonwellness.com.
- The “Common Vision Conditions” Curriculum Kit, available for preorder here, with digital downloads soon to be available here.
- Social media educational content can be accessed via @TheVisionCouncil and @EyeMedVisionCare on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
In early 2025, The Vision Council Foundation will offer a webinar for eyecare professionals on educating young patients about vision health.
“Our collaboration with EyeMed Vision Care represents a pivotal step forward in our mission to help people everywhere see and look their best,” says Ashley Mills, CEO of The Vision Council and The Vision Council Foundation. “Through this partnership, we are expanding our reach and equipping educators, eyecare professionals, and individuals with essential tools to better understand the importance of vision care as health care and its impact on daily life.”
