Sept. 20, 2024 — The Optical Women’s Association (OWA) announced the second round of recipients in its ClearVision-Adira Grant Program on Friday, Sept. 20, during Vision Expo West at the OWA's annual networking and raffle event.
The program, funded by a donation from ClearVision in alignment with the launch of its women’s brand, Adira, has awarded five grants of $2,000 each to five OWA members. The initiative is designed to support the personal and professional development of women in the optical industry. Recipients for both rounds were selected via voting by OWA members based on anonymous essay submissions.
The second-round recipients are Karen Michaelson, ABOC, of KARE Consulting and Communications LLC; Judy Quinones, LDO, ABOC-AC, NCLE of LensCrafters; and Amy Moy, O.D., FAAO, CPCO, FNAP, of New England College of Optometry.
The first-round recipients were Danielle D. Crull, owner and master optician at A Child's Eyes, and Michelle Kelley, director of ophthalmic services and materials at the Southern College of Optometry.
