Julie M. Brewer has joined Alcon’s executive leadership team as senior vice president, president, global franchises. With more than three decades of leadership in pharma, med tech, capital equipment, and digital health care, Brewer brings extensive experience in strategic planning, global market development, product development, and commercialization and commercial operations. Brewer joins Alcon from Baxter International, where she was president of care and connectivity solutions.

Johnson & Johnson announced the appointment of Kelly Heaps as vice president of U.S. sales, vision care. As the leader of the U.S. sales organization, Heaps will work to accelerate sales and foster market share growth while collaborating with customers to strengthen patient outcomes. She brings 25 years of commercial leadership experience, including over two decades at Procter & Gamble, where she led Oral-B North America.

SDC Technologies has announced an investment and collaboration agreement with flō Optics with a goal to co-develop next-generation lens coating solutions and digital application processes focused on enhancing performance, scalability, and sustainability.

VSP Vision, in partnership with the Ohio State University College of Optometry and the Rick Bay Foundation, has named Annette Kretov the winner of the Rick Bay Student Innovator Competition. Kretov received a $5,000 grant for her concept of creating time-progression videos illustrating vision loss from various eye diseases for educational social media campaigns.
