Steel has collaborated with GRF for more than a decade and will oversee its scientific programs, research strategy, and global collaborations. She previously held leadership roles at Bausch + Lomb, Qlaris Bio, and Glaukos.
Vision at Johnson & Johnson has named Caroline Blackie, MS, OD, PhD, as vice president of medical affairs. Dr. Blackie has been with the company for eight years, previously serving as senior medical director and interim head of medical affairs. Additionally, the company appointed Paul Lisenby as global head of research and development. Lisenby has led product development at several major medical technology firms.

Professional Eye Care Associates of America (PECAA) and ABB Optical Group have expanded their vendor partnership to include ABB Optical Lab Services and Specialty Vision Products. The agreement gives PECAA Max members access to ABB’s independent lab network, premium lens portfolio (including Unity and ABB Ascend), and the Delta Scleral contact lens.

SightGlass Vision, a joint venture of CooperCompanies and EssilorLuxottica, reported that more than 1 million children worldwide have worn its Diffusion Optics Technology (DOT) spectacle lenses since its 2021 launch. The lenses, designed to slow myopia progression, are available in Asia-Pacific, Europe, and North America, with over 500,000 children fitted in 2025.
