The Optical Women’s Association (OWA) has opened nominations for the 2026 Pleiades Award, which recognizes an individual who demonstrates exceptional support for advancing women’s leadership within the optical industry. Nominations are due by Nov. 15.

The annual award honors one recipient, regardless of gender, whose professional achievements and daily actions reflect the OWA’s core values. Criteria include leadership, mentorship, influence within the optical community, and a commitment to supporting women through initiatives that “Connect, Inspire, and Lead.” Current board members and board alumni who have served within the past two years are not eligible.

The honoree will be recognized during Vision Expo—taking place March 11-14, 2026, in Orlando, FL—at the OWA’s annual Champagne Breakfast and Star Awards Ceremony.

Named for the Pleiades star cluster, the award symbolizes the collaborative strength and visibility of women in the optical field. Multiple nominations are permitted through the OWA’s online submission form here.
