The Mido Awards 2026 ceremony took place Saturday, January 31, at the Fashion Square of the international eyewear trade show, highlighting projects that combine vision, quality, and impact across retail, product, and corporate practices.
In the Best Store Award category, optical centers that transform retail into immersive experiences were honored.

The Best Store Design award went to André Opticas Chiado in Lisbon, Portugal, led by André Leal, for a concept inspired by a vintage luxury railway carriage, featuring warm woods, brass details, and a curated selection of independent eyewear brands.

The Best Store Innovation award was presented to Optocentro, also in Lisbon, for its “Flight to 2050” concept, which integrates sustainability, technology, and clinical excellence to enhance the customer experience.
Sustainability-focused awards were also featured. The CSE (Certified Sustainable Eyewear) Award recognizes exhibitors demonstrating measurable environmental commitment across materials, processes, and supply chains.

In the frames category, Marchon Italia received the award for the Calvin Klein CK25548 frame, notable for its use of bio-based and recycled Acetate Renew and a fully disassemblable design.

In sunglasses, Silhouette International was honored for its Mavillette 4089 model, made from SPX Green+, a bio-circular material, and produced using 100% renewable energy.

The cases category award went to Llexan Italia for the 02G box, designed with recycled and biodegradable materials and predominantly local production.

A new addition to the 2026 awards, the CSE Corporate Award recognized Safilo for its integration of environmental, social, and governance principles into corporate strategy. The company was cited for robust governance, climate targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative, and reporting systems aligned with European Sustainability Reporting Standards.
